Advising and Course Registration
The SOAR page in MyUI must be completed at least one week prior to your orientation dates. About one week prior to your chosen dates, you will select a one hour Student Online Advising & Registration appointment. Your virtual meeting will be 1:1 meeting via Zoom with your academic advisor who will help you select and register for classes.
Complete your SOAR Page in MyUI
Orientation for spring admits is a virtual process made up of pre-advising modules and a Zoom meeting with your advisor. Prior to your orientation week, you must complete the Student Online Advising & Registration (SOAR) Page in MyUI. This is where you will find placement exam information, modules from your academic college, and information on University policies and procedures. The goal of the SOAR Page is to help you learn how to search for courses and prepare you for your Student Online Advising & Registration appointment. The SOAR page must be completed at least one week prior to your selected orientation dates.
New Students
First- year and transfer students, find out how to prepare for your orientation experience, in order to be successful from the start!
International Students
International students with F-1 and J-1 visa types, should complete orientation directly with International Student and Scholar Services.
