Students who have taken ASL in high school or at other colleges and would like to transfer into the ASL program need to complete a placement test.  The best time for first-year students to take this placement test is during the first day of the 2-day orientation program before 12:30 pm or after 5:30 pm. For transfer students or students attending a 1-day orientation program, appointments can be arranged on other dates.  The interview/placement test takes one hour and will be held in Phillips Hall room 673, by appointment only.

Contact Bob Vizzini at to request this appointment.  Prior to the placement test, a student will receive an email and be asked a few questions about their ASL class experience.  Questions will be include what levels of ASL they took; when and where; what textbooks they used; whether their instructor used voice; and if they are interested in pursuing or considering the ASL Minor.
