An Interview with Megan...

What advice would you share with a new student about their first year at the University of Iowa?

One very important piece of advice I have is to keep a planner. You can buy them at most any store, but my planner is my life saver. It helps to keep track of tests and homework and work schedules if you have a job. I would go crazy if I didn't have a planner.

If you could go back in time, what might you have done differently in your first year at the University of Iowa?

If I could go back in time, I probably would have studied more often than I did and have gone to my professors' office hours. They really are there to help you and it definitely makes a difference.

How did you decide on your major?

When I was eight, my grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I helped take care of her until she passed away. I like helping people and she inspired me to help more people in the world. Therefore, I am a nursing major.
